4 Exceptional Bet Options In The Bundesliga This Season

The Bundesliga has been fascinating

The German Bundesliga has been exciting this season. For the first time in seasons, the table has defied the status quo. The competition has been that intense.

Since gaining promotion to the top division four seasons ago, Union Berlin has continued to improve. Last season, they finished impressively in fifth place which saw them qualify for the Europa League.

And now, even after selling one of their top talents, Taiwo Awoniyi to Nottingham Forest, they lead on the log, two points above Bayern Munich.

Perhaps, it is early days, and the cream might yet rise to the top, what Die Eisernen are achieving is remarkable. It is not a fluke, either.

Eight Gameweeks have gone down so far and so unique patterns are beginning to develop that could help punters earn great rewards on their stakes. The Bundesliga ranks third in the top five leagues with regard to goals per game (2.93) so far.

Here are four brilliant bet options:

Goal/Goal In Matches Involving Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen has begun well this season, sitting comfortably in eighth position. The River Islanders gained promotion just a season after failing to survive the drop in 2019.

To put it in proper perspective, Ole Werner’s men are only three points behind the champions. Of course, this mostly lends credence to the competitive nature of the Bundesliga this term.

The intriguing part of this side is how they score goals. They are one of the division’s most expressive sides. Werner has stuck with his 3-5-2 formation, one which allows them to expand the pitch as much as possible. Indeed, only Bayern Munich has scored more goals than this team.

While Werder Bremen love to score, they are very vulnerable defensively

Anthony Jung and Mitchell Weiser have been excellent as left and right wing-backs respectively. Nicklas Fullkrug- a Werder Bremen product- has scored seven goals in eight this season.

And yet, in committing players forward, they have been vulnerable at the back, a reason they have recorded just one clean sheet.

Werder Bremen has recorded six goal-goal results this season. Hence, this presents a safe option for punters interested in the Bundesliga.

Over 2.5 Goals In Matches Involving Leipzig

Leipzig can confidently call itself one of the best three teams in the Bundesliga since its establishment 9 years ago. Their former manager, Julian Nagglesmann (now with Bayern Munich) was one of the most sought-after coaches in the world owing to his feat with the club.

They are the current holders of the DFB Pokal, their first major trophy, having overcome Freiburg 4-2 on penalties. They had lost the previous two finals to Bayern Munich and Dortmund respectively.

However, this season, they have failed to live up to expectations, struggling in 11th position with just three wins. Last month, they appointed Marco Rose to replace Domenico Tedesco after losing to Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening Champions League fixture.

Having won just once in five league matches before the former Salzburg coach was appointed, the Red Bulls have now won two of their last three matches. They have also kept a clean sheet in those wins.

Leipzig just cannot keep a clean sheet

Christopher Nkunku has been the club’s standout player since Timo Werner joined Chelsea. The Frenchman scored 35 goals last season. Now, the German forward has returned and is sharing the burden.

Leipzig has recorded seven over 2.5 goals results, including their last five. Certainly, this is a must-have option for every punter interested in the Bundesliga.

Over 1.5 Goals In Matches Involving Frankfurt

Oliver Glasner has been one of the most outstanding managers in Germany. After leading Wolfsburg to fourth position in the summer of 2021, he joined the Frankfurt project and won the Europa League last season.

Following a disappointing 11th-place finish last term, Glasner’s men remain in and around the top positions, sitting just a point behind Bayern Munich.

The Eagles have shared the burden of scoring amongst themselves, especially with Kolo Muani struggling. Even more, Mario Gotze has returned to the Bundesliga to improve them creatively.

Frankfurt distribute the goals around

And yet, they have struggled defensively. No team has conceded more goals than Frankfurt amongst the top-10 sides.

The Hesse-based side has managed seven over 1.5 goals results this season. This trend looks sure to continue.

Bayern Munich To Win At Home

When the defending champions defeated Frankfurt 6-1 on the opening day, many had expected them to stroll to their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title.

And yet, after eight Gameweeks, the Bavarians have drawn three of eight matches. Even more interesting is the fact that they drew just five times in the whole of last season.

With the absence of Robert Lewandowski, they have continued to score. Indeed, they lead on that front with at least five goals. Sadio Mane has come in and settled in nicely. Jamal Musiala is scoring and creating. Leroy Sane is just as devastating on the right flank.

The Bavarians are a different side at home

The concern, however, is Nagglesmann’s inability to rotate his side effectively, especially as a result of their continental commitments. Bayern Munich has failed to win any of the two matches they have played after a Champions League week.

However, the Allianz Arena is still a fortress for the Champions. They have won two of the four matches played on home soil.

As they continue to find form, Bayern Munich will expectedly garner more wins at home. This is therefore a brilliant bet option for punters.
