4 High-paying Bet Options In The Austrian Bundesliga This Season

The Austrian Bundesliga has been delivering the goods this season
167views

Erling Haaland, Karim Adeyemi, and Sadio Mane, to mention a few, are players who have moved from Austrian Bundesliga side, RB Salzburg, to mainstream Europe and are currently holding their own.

Indeed, it was not until 2005, when the Red Bull outfit took over the club, that they began to experience such exponential growth. Now, they are literally the most dominant team, a vivid mirror of clubs like Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. The Red Bulls have won 13 of the last 17 championships, including the last eight.

Matthias Jaissle’s men currently lead the log with six points. Yet, if you take your eyes slightly away from the madness that is RB Salzburg, the gap between the chasing pack is close. Only seven points separate Austria Wien in seventh place and LASK in third position this season.

Apart from the exciting football on display weekly, punters have also found this league a great source of betting profit. For those who are more inclined to bet on goals, the Austrian Bundesliga is certainly a good hunting ground.

With 16 matches played, some unique patterns have emerged from which punters can enjoy even greater and more consistent rewards on their stakes.

Here are four of them:

Over 2.5 Goals In Matches Involving LASK

After a horrid last season in which they ended up second in the relegation playoffs, LASK sit in third place this term. And yet, it was easier to observe that while they were particularly enterprising and fluid, they were mostly vulnerable in defence.

This campaign, Dietmar Kuhbauer’s men have the second-best offensive record, just behind that of the leaders. However, the Linz-based side have been susceptible to conceding cheaply.

The 51-year old manager who joined in the summer has considerably changed the fortunes of this team. His consistent 4-2-3-1 formation has continued to yield great results. Even more importantly, he has trusted his young players to deliver the goods.

LASK’s cold-blooded forwards have been responsible for their high-scoring matches

Croatian forward, Marin Ljubicic, has been one of the team’s shining lights. The 20-year old has notched nine goals already in his first full season. He had broken Haaland’s record after scoring six goals in his first three matches.  Similarly, Keito Nakamura has also contributed eight goals from the wings.

Unfortunately, their defensive frailties have been well documented. The Black-Whites have lost 13 points from winning positions this season.

LASK have recorded nine over 2.5 goals results, including five out of their last seven league matches. This is certainly a safe option for punters.

Over 1.5 Goals In Matches Involving Austria Wien

Austria Wien had the second-best defensive record last season, conceding 39 goals in 32 matches. However, they have drifted away from that style of play. The Violets have conceded 25 goals already in only 16 matches.

And after finishing third in the playoffs last term, Manfred Schmid has been let go as the Vienna-based club languishes in seventh place. From losing just eight matches in the 2021/22 season, they have lost five already. His team also finished bottom in Group C of the Europa Conference League.

Austria Wien have simply regressed since the start of the season

It remains to be seen how new manager Michael Wimmer will galvanise the defence. Lucas Galvao and Matteo Meisl have struggled at the centre.

So far, Austria Wien have conceded (25), as many as they have scored. It looks almost certain that this trend of scoring and eventually conceding will continue.

Seeing that Wimmer’s team have played out 14 over 1.5 matches, this bet option has a very high probability of delivering for punters.

RB Salzburg To Score The First Goal

Perhaps the only blemish on a very dominant season for the Red Bulls is their inability to progress to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League. They finished third behind Chelsea and Milan.

Domestically, they are tearing every comer apart with very little margin for error. Offensively and defensively, Jaissle’s men are simply in a class of their own.

The reason, of course, is the quality of their scouting programme, where they are able to pick exceedingly talented young players, harness them, and hand them top responsibilities.

Salzburg have a habit of unsettling teams with early goals

Even as they continue to sell these players for big money to the big clubs in Europe, their vision in identifying talents remains ever so bright.

It is interesting to also observe their penchant for forwards of Nigerian descent. While Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Noah Okafor and Junior Adamu have become even more prominent. The duo has scored 14 goals combined in the Austrian Bundesliga.

RB Salzburg tend to fly out of the blocks, dealing opponents huge punches even before they can settle into the game . The Wals-Siezenheim-based team has scored the opening goal in 12 of 16 matches played.

Goal/Goal In Matches Involving Wolfsberg

RZ Pellets have been disappointing by their very high standards this season. From qualifying for the championship playoffs in third place, Robin Dutt’s team languish in eighth place, winning just one of their last five matches.

Wolfsberg have lost more matches (9) than they lost in the regular season last time out. Yet, it always seemed imminent, especially after losing five of the 10 matches played in the Championship playoffs and losing scandalously to Molde in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Wolfsberg have been atrocious in defence

While they are the fifth-highest scorers, the Carinthia-based club has conceded more goals than bottom team Hartberg.

Wolfsberg have kept just one clean sheet all season. In effect, they have recorded 15 goal/goal results in 16 matches.

This is therefore a must-have option for punters with interests in the Austrian Bundesliga.
