There was a sense of a mentality shift, a statement of intent, as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal defeated Liverpool on Sunday to climb back to the summit of the Premier League.
With less than five minutes to go, it felt like Arsenal had played like Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp’s men like their hosts, at least for the last two seasons. In three league meetings between both sides, the Londoners had not scored. In eight meetings in all competitions, they had not won.
And yet, what began as a soft, sunny afternoon at the Emirates had quickly gone wild, with Arteta punching the air in celebration.
Similarly, on the other side of the city, Graham Potter is enjoying a brilliant start to life as Chelsea manager. It is now two wins out of two in the league. The football is pleasing to the eye, too.
So, the action continues this weekend with some first-class fixtures. However, the pick of the bunch will be at Anfield between the biggest teams in the country. It is fair to expect fireworks.
Review Of Gameweek 10
The previous gameweek was laden with goals; at least one was scored in each venue.
Newcastle continued their impressive form with a 5-1 trouncing of Brentford at St James’ Park.
And in exceptional fashion, Bournemouth have turned the tides since the heavy loss against Liverpool. The Cherries came from behind to defeat a lacklustre Leicester 2-1.
Manchester City earned a 4-0 routine win against Southampton as Chelsea grabbed a commanding 3-0 victory against Wolves.
Tottenham, in its usual fashion, did just enough to defeat Brighton, thanks to a fine Harry Kane finish.
In a London derby, West Ham came from a goal down to secure a 3-1 win against Fulham.
Eberechi Eze inspired his Crystal Palace to a 2-1 defeat of Leeds.
Arsenal put in a special performance at the Emirates in a 3-2 hard-fought win against a stubborn Liverpool.
In an entertaining 1-1 draw, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa settled for a point each.
Preview Of Gameweek 11

In what promises to be an entertaining encounter, Fulham and Bournemouth will go head-to-head.
Tottenham will need to be at their very best against a resilient Everton side.
