The wait is over. It was only a 2-week break, but it felt almost like eternity for the League’s lovers. The Premier League is back with game week 24 and the drama can only get more intense.

Manchester City surprisingly dropped points and, somehow, the gap between them and second-placed Liverpool does not seem so unassailable anymore.

Newcastle has now had its chance to beef up the squad and, boy have they spent big. They spent £92m on five players, including Brazilian sensation, Bruno Guimaraes from Ligue 1. Will it be enough to survive relegation?

Review of Gameweek 23

The previous game week witnessed some surprises results- shocking at times. Yet, the action was absorbing.

The first unexpected result came at Vicarage road where Norwich hit Watford for three. The implication, of course, has been the sacking of coach, Claudio Ranieri.

With Rafael Benitez also let go at Everton, the Blues could not earn a win. Instead, Aston Villa managed a 1-0 win.

Wolves overpowered Brentford away 2-1 as Newcastle earned a 1-0 win against Leeds United.

Marcus Rashford scored a last-gasp goal to help Manchester United defeat West Ham 1-0.

Southampton forced Manchester City to a 1-1 draw as Liverpool eased past Crystal Palace 3-1. Patrick Vieira will be delighted to have his men who were on Nations Cup duty over the past month.

Arsenal drew blanks with Burnley as Leicester City and Brighton shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

And in the London derby, Hakim Ziyech inspired Chelsea to a 2-0 win against Tottenham.

The Premier League is set for excellent matchups this game week.

Newcastle will begin the action with an encounter against newly appointed Frank Lampard’s Everton.

West Ham takes on Watford as Burnley hosts Manchester United.
