Welcome to the UEFA Champions League Gameweek 3. From 5:45 pm today, the gaze of the world will once again be fixed on this money-spinning, drama-filled, first-class competition.
The previous Gameweek was action-packed. Bayern Munich stamped their feet as the boss against Barcelona. They have done that for a while now. And even when it felt like the Spanish side could finally go against the order of things, having signed Bayern’s best player, Robert Lewandowski in the summer, the result remained the same. Xavi Hernandez’s men were not bad, yet they just showed that there was still a level to attain against teams of this stature.
Sporting upset Tottenham in stoppage time. Club Brugge paid very little respect to former champions, Porto even in Portugal. Juventus faltered and Manchester City was almost stunned by Borussia Dortmund until Erling Haaland decided to show up.
This midweek, some heavyweights will go head-to-head. The Champions League never fails to deliver.
