Grand Spectacle Expected In Champions League Gameweek 3

A preview of what to expect in the Champions League Gameweek 5

Welcome to the UEFA Champions League Gameweek 3. From 5:45 pm today, the gaze of the world will once again be fixed on this money-spinning, drama-filled, first-class competition.

The previous Gameweek was action-packed. Bayern Munich stamped their feet as the boss against Barcelona. They have done that for a while now. And even when it felt like the Spanish side could finally go against the order of things, having signed Bayern’s best player, Robert Lewandowski in the summer, the result remained the same. Xavi Hernandez’s men were not bad, yet they just showed that there was still a level to attain against teams of this stature.

Sporting upset Tottenham in stoppage time. Club Brugge paid very little respect to former champions, Porto even in Portugal. Juventus faltered and Manchester City was almost stunned by Borussia Dortmund until Erling Haaland decided to show up.

This midweek, some heavyweights will go head-to-head. The Champions League never fails to deliver.

Review Of Gameweek 2

Kostas Tsimikas scored late to give Liverpool a 2-1 win against Ajax. In the other group A match, Napoli thumped Rangers 3-0 in Scotland.

Bayer Leverkusen stunned Atletico Madrid 2-0 thanks to an inspirational performance by Jeremie Frimpong in Group B. Meanwhile, Club Brugge thrashed FC Porto 4-0 at the Estadio do Dragao.

Shakhtar Donetsk shared the spoils in a 1-1 encounter with Celtic. Federico Valverde was on target as Real Madrid eased past RB Leipzig 2-0 to top Group F.

Copenhagen and Sevilla played out a drab goalless draw in Group G as Manchester City had to come from behind to defeat a spirited Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland scored an acrobatic goal against Dortmund

Juventus stumbled at home to Benfica 1-2. Ligue 1 winners, PSG continued its 100% record in Group H with a 3-1 win against Maccabi Haifa. Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar all got in on the act.
