The compressed football calendar means that the fans will enjoy another Champions League Gameweek less than seven days after the season’s opener. Last week’s matches were exciting, with the goals scattered across the various venues.

There were some fascinating upsets. Chelsea lost to Dinamo Zagreb which saw Thomas Tuchel fired the following day. A struggling Liverpool side also suffered a humbling loss away to Napoli.

And yet, the biggest drama was at the Metropolitano where Atletico Madrid had managed to defeat Porto in a three-goal thriller, with the first goal of the encounter scored in the 92nd minute.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid all enjoyed comfortable victories at the end of proceedings.

Some mouthwatering fixtures are set to go down from tonight.
