Premier League 2019-2020: Betting Predictions for Gameweek 16

The beat goes on for Liverpool in the Premier League

The beat is still going on for some teams in the Premier League.

League leaders, Liverpool and Leicester City continue to share the Ls for other teams in the league while there are signs of life for some teams down in the relegation battle

Both sides are currently on extended winning streaks, 6 straight wins for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and 7 for Brendan Rogers’ Foxes.

Southampton is not going to go gently into the relegation night with two wins in two games against fellow bottom-dwellers giving manager, Ralph Hassenhuttal some much-needed breathing space.

The score-and-concede nature of Spurs under Jose Mourinho continues and is a huge source of worry for a manager who throughout his career has treated clean sheets as the Holy Grail.

It is looking like Marco Silva’s days at Everton may be numbered as his Toffees continue to lose consistently.

Review of Gameweek 15

Vardy can do no wrong at the moment

It’s the Yuletide season which means that for the Premier League, the games will start coming thick and fast.

Gameweek 15 produced more than its fair share of stunning results and goals.

Crystal Palace started it off with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth while Gabriel Jesus with a brace helped Manchester City thrash Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moor.

Wednesday action was brilliant with goals from all angles. A Marcus Rashford double inspired Manchester United to a 2-1 win over a lacklustre Tottenham side on Mourinho’s return to Old Trafford.

Liverpool rested some key men but was still way too good for a poor Everton side in the Merseyside Derby. Sadio Mane was the main man as the Reds hammered their Toffee neighbours 5-2.

Leicester continued their winning streak with a 2-0 win over manager-less Watford as Wolverhampton Wanderers downed West Ham 2-0.

Southampton won their second relegation six-pointer in 4 days by the same scoreline; another 2-1 win but this time, over Norwich City.

Chelsea swung back from two consecutive losses to claim a 2-1 win over Aston Villa with Tammy Abraham getting a goal and assist.

On Thursday, Freddie Ljungberg did himself no favours as his tactical ineptitude saw Arsenal lose at home to Brighton by 2-1 while Newcastle caused a mini-upset with a 2-0 win away to Sheffield United.
