It is as we were, at least, at the top of the Premier League table. Last weekend’s headline fixture went exactly as we predicted it would: end-to-end, technical, fierce.
Perhaps Manchester City should have won on the balance of play and chances created. And yet, both teams showed just why they are a class above the others.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has kept up with its directionless pattern- fleeting, roller-coaster-like football. Just when they needed to win, they lost.
And Arsenal has not changed much. The flaws and inconsistencies still exist amid the intermittent direction they portray.
Review of Gameweek 32
The previous gameweek was brilliant. Suspense-filled, goal-laden, it was very exciting.
On a particularly calm Friday night, Newcastle managed to defeat a compact Wolves side by a goal to nil.
Everton earned a vital, yet unexpected 1-0 win against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
A reborn Leeds United side eased past Watford 3-0
Chelsea vented the pain of their recent losses on Southampton. They thrashed the Saints 6-0.
Arsenal was disappointing and lost 2-1 to Brighton at home as Tottenham continued their winning streak, defeating Aston Villa 4-0.
Leicester City held on to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 as Norwich eased past Burnley 2-0.
Brentford made light work of West Ham with a 2-0 win as Manchester City and Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
