LILLE vs NICE
Last week’s 3 – 2 win over Lyon was a huge statement for Lille – another indicator that Christophe Galtier’s side really wants to wrest the title from perennial winners, PSG.
But this week, the report is that Galtier is considering a move to this weekend’s opponents, Nice. To be honest, I don’t understand it. His team will most likely be in the Champions League next season, so why abandon them to coach a team that might not be in Europe?
Maybe, money is the big factor here. But Galtier will put that aside as he hopes to continue on a track that might see Lille win the title for the first time in a decade.
My first prediction here is a straight home win. Both have identical records in the last five games coming into this encounter with three wins, one loss, and a draw. But I don’t see Nice posing much trouble for Lille. A Lille win is set at 1.45 odds.
Before last week’s five-goal thriller with Lyon, Lille hasn’t managed more than 2 goals in the previous four games. I don’t see that happening either on Saturday night. So, I’m going for a home win and under 3.5. That’s set on BetBiga as 2.02 odds.
ELCHE vs ATLETICO MADRID
The home side is fighting for their lives this season. Last week’s win over Levante was the first 3 points in five games for Elche. Their opponent, however, is not in the best of form. Atletico could be down to second place by the time this game starts after only recording two wins in the last five games.
But the good news for Atleti manager, Diego Simeone, is that he could have Luis Suarez and Jao Felix back. Actually, the possibility is huge.
As such, I can only see one outcome here, an Atleti win considering they have won six of the last seven meetings between the pair. That’s 1.42 odds on BetBiga.
Elche have scored in four of their last five games. I also see them scoring on Saturday. An away win and GG is a good bet. It is prized at 3.80 odds.
SPURS vs SHEFFIELD
Two out-of-form teams meet on Sunday in a game both teams desperately need results for different reasons.
While the away side will be hoping to see their slim chances of survival come through, Spurs are fighting for a European place.
Both sides have won just one game in five. Not a good look coming into the weekend. But you’d think that the superior players should help the home team here.
A simple prediction for me is a home win. That’s 1.31 odds on BetBiga.
Sheffield have not been prolific in front of goal. They’ve managed to score twice in five games. I don’t see them getting a goal against Spurs either. A Spurs win and NG is a good bet if you ask me. On BetBiga, it’s 1.91 odds.
